About

My name is Heather and I am a practicing Buddhist.  Although I am currently living in the Bay Area of California, my roots lie near the Miami Valley in the southern part of Ohio. Officially, I am an urban public school teacher.  Recently, I came face to face with my misery and unhappiness as said teacher.  Finding myself immersed in a stressful, unsafe, and unsupportive work environment I decided it was time to make a change.  I realized that if I wanted to be happy, I would have to take ownership and create the happiness I wanted.  My plan is to use this outlet as a journal to open up, share my innermost thoughts and daily doings as I embark on a spiritual journey of sorts towards creating a happier and more fulfilling life.  An X marks the spot.  This is my beginning of finding the courage to change.

  4. I am from Ohio, too (southeast)! It’s wonderful that you found the courage to make such a radical change for the benefit of your higher Being. We can be so much more powerful to bring about peaceful change in the world when we honor the path to peace within ourselves. I look forward to reading about your journey.
